Joanna Smyth MSc, BSc (Hons)
MCSP, HCPC Registered
Joanna has 19 years experience working within the NHS. Joanna progressed into a supervisory role where she became the Team Lead of a large outpatient department at St John’s hospital. Joanna also has great experience in performance sports, working with athletics, rugby and gymnastics. Joanna has been working in a private setting for many years now and advises a wide range of clients on injury rehabilitation.
Leona Cunningham BSc (Hons)
MCSP, HCPC Registered
Leona has over 10 years experience with St John’s hospital in Livingston. Leona then moved into the private sector becoming the Team Lead Physiotherapist at Spire’s Livingston Clinic. Leona has vast experience in both performance sports and with the general public reducing pain through injury rehabilitation.

Manual therapy
Manual therapy is the use of mobilisation and manipulation of the joints and soft tissues to help relieve stiffness and pain.
Soft tissue release
Techniques include trigger point release, myofascial release and massage which are all used to release tight muscles.
Exercise Therapy
Exercise therapy is stretching, strengthening and balance re-education to help manage your symptoms.
Acupuncture & dry needling
Acupuncture involves inserting fine sterile needles into specific points in the body for pain relief.
Strapping & taping
Strapping and taping techniques may be used as part of your treatment.
Posture advice and correction
Your posture will be assessed in sitting and standing and advice will be given.

Cancellation Policy
PurePhysio has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or rearrange any appointments we require 24 hours notice otherwise a cancellation charge of the full fee may be applied. Please note that if your treatment is covered by private medical insurance, they will not pay the cancellation charge and you will be liable.
